Obituary

It is with heavy hearts but uplifted spirits that we gather to remember the beautiful life of Brenda Ann Dampeer, who passed away on March 30, 2023. Brenda was born on February 6, 1967, in Copiah County, Mississippi, to Mamie Dampeer and Earl Williams, Jr. Brenda was a funny and gregarious person who left an indelible impression on everyone she met.

Brenda graduated from Mendenhall High School and later moved to Gulfport, Mississippi, and helped her sister with her nieces and nephews before starting her own family. She pursued a career in the healthcare field until she could no longer work. Despite facing health challenges in her life, Brenda's fun-loving spirit and positive attitude never wavered.

Brenda  was blessed with five beautiful children whom she loved with all heart. Her four sons, Cordarro (Nakia) Dampeer, Quentin Ellison, VonEric (Whitley) Dampeer, and Larry (Terrance) Smith, Jr., and her daughter, Kayla Moten, were her pride and joy. Brenda had a special bond with her niece, Faith Durr, who was a constant source of support to her. Likewise, her six granddaughters, Ashari, Madison, Zahara, Blessyn, Milan, and Sage; and her three grandsons, Isaiah, VonEric, Jr., and Devon, brought immense joy to her life.

Brenda  is survived by three siblings, Greg (Cheryl) Dampeer, Jeffrey (Stella) Harris, and Danny Harris, as well as her sister, Pamela (Percy) Bethea. Her brother-in-law, Jerry Durr, will miss Brenda and the many laughs they've shared. Additionally, her long-term love, Russell Moten, who was deeply devoted to her, mourns her passing. Her lasting friendship with Nay, Bertha, Vangela, and Angela, grew into an unbreakable sisterhood. She treasured the special relationship she shared with her aunt, Bonnie Dampeer, a cherished confidante from the time she was a little girl. She also leaves to mourn her memory committed nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Brenda  was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, sister-in-law, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Her passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Brenda's loving nature will be deeply missed. She had an uncanny ability to bring laughter and joy to any situation.

As we mourn her loss, let us take comfort in knowing that Brenda's legacy will live on through the memories she has left us. Let us celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with all those around her.

Rest in peace, Brenda. You will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
