Carrie Ann
Turner
Jun 1, 1948 — Sep 20, 2023
Mendenhall
My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is
steadfast.
I will sing and give praise. Psalm 57:7 (NKJV)
Carrie Ann Turner was born June 1, 1948, in Simpson County, Mississippi, to Willie Hubbard and Mary Easterling. She was later adopted by relatives Ishmael H. and Sallie Floyd. All of her parents preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two of her brothers, W.S. Walker and Willie Earl Hubbard. On September 20, 2023, she departed this life after a very long illness.
Carrie Ann was joined in Holy Matrimony to James H. Turner; to this union, six children were born. During this time, she devoted countless hours servings others from being a Counselor to serving as President of The Mendenhall Ministries (TMM). She attended Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church in her youth, Bethany Church, Baker, Louisiana, and Mendenhall Bible Church (MBC) in her adult life. As an accomplished musician, she played for many churches in Simpson County and directed the MBC Choir for many years. As a woman, she was incomparable to most people. She was a social butterfly adept to any situation, an avid artist, a great orator, a merit Bible scholar and author, yet modest about any accomplishments she made except about her children.
Carrie Ann is survived by her husband; her six children, Anslem (Chandar), Christopher (Lynn), Jerald (Makiasa), Marcus (Danya), Shantay (Gromico), and James (Claudette, significant other); 29 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Lemar Eastland; a sister-in-love, Marsha Eastland; nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual family; and a host of friends.
