Mendenhall
Funeral Program - Claudette Dampeer
Claudette, a loving, caring, and strong mother, devoted her life to taking care of her family. The oldest of two daughters, she was born in Mississippi, on July 27, 1976, to James Earl Dampeer and Sallie Mae Dampeer.
Claudette graduated from Mendenhall High School, Class of 1995. She began her career in a variety of roles and ultimately took a position in mental health care, where she worked for many years and developed a deep passion for helping others. She later attended Antonelli College and became a Certified Medical Assistant.
Claudette then transitioned to professional driving, earning her Class B commercial driver's license and joining the Teamsters Union in Pennsylvania. She worked across multiple states on pipeline projects and especially cherished her time driving in the film and entertainment industry in New Orleans, Louisiana. Shortly before her passing, she returned to Simpson County, Mississippi, where she worked as a Class B driver for South Central Community Action Agency.
Claudette leaves behind a devoted husband, James Turner, who cherished her deeply throughout their 23 years of unity. Throughout the years, they built a beautiful life together — one filled with love, faith, laughter, and shared dreams. Their home was a place of comfort and joy, where family and friends were always welcome. Together, they weathered life's storms and celebrated its sweetest moments, growing closer with each passing year.
Claudette, in addition to her husband, James I. Turner, is survived by her sister, Marquita Dampeer (Kiya); her brother, Craig Dampeer; her three biological daughters, Tamarial Dampeer, Shakya Dampeer (Terry), and Mianna Dampeer; five stepchildren; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Claudette Dampeer, born July 27, 1976, of Mendenhall, MS passed away September 25, 2025. Ms. Dampeer is survived by a loving family and will be remembered fondly in the community.
