Eddie Skiffer

Eddie Skiffer entered the world on June 13, 1933, in Simpson County, Mississippi as the second son of L.E. and Julia Skiffer. In early 1962, seeking a better life, Eddie moved his young family to Long Beach, New York, where he worked for the city of Long Beach and was an amateur boxer. In the summer of 1966, he moved his family back to D'Lo, Simpson County, Mississippi, where he lived until his death.

Eddie loved to make people laugh and share funny stories and memories of his childhood. He was a member of Shiloh M.B. Church and later converted to and practiced the Hebrew religion.

In addition to his loving wife, he leaves to cherish his memories four daughters: Deborah (Skiffer) Talton, Sharon (Raynard) Lindsey, Chandra (Reece) Gayden, Karen (Skiffer) Bowman; five sisters, Lee Vernice Lofton of Chicago, Illinois; Floree Webster and Tina Fuller of Cleveland, Ohio; Della Baggett of Magee, Mississippi; and Earnestine Blanford of Mendenhall, Mississippi; one brother, Archie Skiffer of D'Lo, Mississippi; 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, John Henry Lindsey and Cliff Hicks and other friends.

Eddie transitioned from the earthly realm on March 25, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.E. and Julia Skiffer; two daughters, Irma Skiffer and Danielle (Damon) Robinson; one son, Mark Skiffer, who was still born; three brothers; and three sisters.
