Mother Ella R. Jackson

Mother Ella R. Jackson, the daughter of Claude and Katie Durr-Knight was born September 26, 1928, in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi.

Mother Ella, like the Apostle Paul said, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; and now; I am ready to be offered, my time of departure is at hand… " and very quietly and peacefully on the 1st day of June 2019, at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, Mississippi, God whispered "Come with Me." She departed this life to began a new and better one. She was welcomed to eternal life by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her task is done.

Mother Ella was a native and lifelong resident of Prentiss, Mississippi. Although she only attained a limited education at Oak Grove School, she possessed wisdom and experience beyond measure. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Oak Grove M.B. Church. Mother Ella later moved her membership to St. Mary Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder M. C. Coleman.
