Faith Denise
Skiffer
Jun 26, 1951 — Jul 25, 2019
Mendenhall
Born on June 26, 1951, to Daniel and Emma Scott in Chicago, Illinois, Faith Denise Scott, was a unique and powerful woman whose impact on others will forever be remembered. A child prodigy, Faith's love of music and fashion design was demonstrated through her participation in varying programs within Maywood, Illinois. Having learned piano and being a part of her first gospel choir at Union Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, Faith carried this passion for entertainment and creativity with her for ages.
In her adult years, Faith not only served the role of a mother and wife, but also served her respective communities of Los Angeles, California and Magee, Mississippi as a licensed practical nurse. While working within the Boswell Retardation Center and Millcreek located in Magee, Mississippi, Faith earned the affectionate nickname of "Ms. Faye" from her residents at the time. This name would prove to transfer over to family and would be said in various renditions ("Aunt Faye," "TT Faye," and "Faye" to name a few) by different family members; however, her children only had permission to call her "Momma."
Faith is remembered by her children for being a charismatic, compassionate, and influential woman. Her love and devotion towards her children will continue to be cherished. By her grandchildren, Faith is remembered for her giving spirit and her warmhearted bluntness. Her personality and compassion will ring throughout the following generations. By her siblings, Faith is remembered for her humor and humility. Her accommodating heart and her smile-provoking laughs and jokes will forever be cherished.
Faith "Ms. Faye" Denise Skiffer has joined several loved ones in the presence of the Lord: her parents, Daniel and Emma Scott; her brother, Sylvester Scott; and her sister, Jean Scott Bruce.
Faith leaves many family members and loved ones to cherish her life and legacy: her three children, Antoine (Sharon) Cannon of Phenix City, Alabama, Toya King of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Lakyee (La'Christa) Skiffer of Mendenhall, Mississippi; her three granddaughters, Jasmine King of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Shakenia Miller of Phenix City, Alabama, La'Khaiyah Marie Conrad Skiffer of Mendenhall, Mississippi; and one great grandson Amir Hildreth of Phenix City, Alabama. Likewise, Faith leaves behind her loving siblings: Helen Lampkins of Arlington, Texas, Mary Ann Lewis of Arlington, Texas, Ronald (Kristine) Scott of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Bobby (Ella) Scott of Birmingham, Alabama and Daniel Scott, Jr. of Harvey, Illinois.
Faith married into the Skiffer family and developed a strong bond with her in-laws: Vernice Lofton Chicago, Illinois, Floree (Johnny) Webster, Tina Fuller, Cleveland, Ohio, Della Baggett, Mendenhall, Mississippi, Earnestine Blanford, Mendenhall, Mississippi, Archie (Janice) Skiffer, Mendenhall, Mississippi, Yvonne Skiffer, Mendenhall, Mississippi, and Alzean Taylor, Mendenhall, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
