Harvey
Drummond
Dec 12, 1952 — Nov 1, 2020
Mendenhall
Our hearts are heavy at the passing of our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Harvey Drummond, Jr. on November 1, 2020.
Harvey was born December 12, 1952, in Simpson County, Mississippi, to Harvey and Fannie (Skiffer) Drummond, where he was raised and educated until his teen years. He completed his education in Job Corps in Kentucky. Throughout his life, Harvey worked numerous service jobs, in which he was a highly valued employee due to his gentle and warm personality.
Harvey was raised in a Christian home and held membership at Shiloh M.B. Church during his childhood. Although not certain of the date of salvation, Harvey lived and expressed a faith-based lifestyle and daily witnessed to others of the goodness of God. He fellowshipped or held membership at various churches based on his location. In the early 90's, Harvey moved to Tennessee where he joined True Light M.B. Church. After his failing health, he returned to the family home in D'Lo and rejoined Shiloh M.B. Church.
While in Tennessee, Harvey married Shirley and the two enjoyed their friendship and marriage for 27 years.
Waiting to welcome Harvey are his parents, Harvey and Fannie Drummond; his wife, Shirley Drummond; siblings, Katie Drummond-Grady, George Drummond (childhood death), and Jeremiah Drummond; and a host of aunts, uncles, in-laws, family and friends.
Forever cherishing his memories: Moses Drummond of Kingston, TN, Mildred (Al) Drummond-Dorsey and Ruth Drummond-Stevens, both of San Antonio, TX, Elijah (Christine) Drummond of South Dakota; Israel (Lisa) Drummond, Joseph (Phillis) Drummond of D'Lo, MS, Nathaniel Drummond of Seattle, WA, Job Drummond of San Antonio, TX, and Abraham Drummond of D'Lo, MS; sister-in-law, Anna Drummond of D'Lo, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
