Howard was born to Fred and Luvda Jones on July 10, 1942.

Howard  attended Harper High School. Later in his adult life, Howard worked on the farm of Stacy Broadhead in Mendenhall, Mississippi, until his health started to deteriorate early this year. Howard loved to work, ride around town with his family and friends, go out to eat catfish every Friday night, and play cards at family gatherings.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Luvda Jones; his first wife, Juanita Jones; and stepdaughter, Charlotte Edwards.

Howard married Mary Joyce Edwards on August 27, 2017, and to this union a family was blended.

Howard  leaves behind to cherish his memories: his wife, Mary Edwards Jones, D'Lo, Mississippi; two daughters, Renita (Charles) Williams and Gwen Jones, both of Mendenhall, Mississippi; five stepchildren; one sister, Myrtis (John) Capels of Oakland, California; three biological grandsons, Charles, Howard and Demetrius; four great grandchildren, Maaliyah, Landyn, Kiedon, and Casen; a special great step-grandson, Elijah; and a host of step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends.
