On May 9, 2023, our dear father and loved one, Isaiah "Ike" Brown, was called home to be with the Lord and suffer no more.

Isaiah Brown was born on April 9, 1948, to Verbena Brown in Mendenhall, Mississippi.  He was the first born of nine children. Preceding him in death was his wife, Emma D. Lamb (Brown) of Mt. Olive, Mississippi, mother, Verbena McCollum (Brown), and younger brother, Louis McCollum. Isaiah leaves behind seven siblings, Dr. Will Brown, Jr. (Rene) (New York), Gloria Wade (South Carolina), Ralph McCollum (Texas), Sally Wright (New York), Verbena McCollum (New York), Dannie McCollum (New York), and Linda McCollum (New York).

Isaiah attended McLaurin Vocational Attendance Center High School in Magee, Mississippi, where he met his wife and began his passion for sports, mainly football.  Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Brooklyn, New York, where they created five children, Isaiah Brown, Jr. (Florette), Donte "Lenior Ali" Brown, Timothy Brown (Yahirda), Irene Chalmers "Brown" (Todd), and Vertina Brown. Through his abundance of love, he created six children after his marriage, Frederick Bowman (South Carolina), Ida Pinckney (New York), Isaiah Hedgepeth (New York), Myagiea Hedgepeth (New York), Kathie Hedgepeth (New York), and Tommy Lee Thornton (Mississippi), his first born, more than 25 grandchildren and 29 nieces and nephews.

Through his journey in life, he was a father, brother, uncle, and mainly a protector to his family and friends to which he loved them all deeply.
