JW Patterson was born on December 22, 1952, to the late T.J. Patterson and Ossie Mae Patterson. JW ended his earthly journey on October 18, 2020, at Magee General Hospital. JW joined the St. Peter M.B. Church where he served until his death. He was a devoted partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He genuinely loved his family and was genuinely loved by his family. He was employed as a logger for many years.

JW leaves to cherish his memory: his life partner, Rachel Nelson; two loving daughters, Tanja (Darrell) Paige of Pearl, Mississippi, Selina Nelson of Mendenhall, Mississippi; two stepsons, Tommie (Sarah) Thornton and Jamie (Veronica) Thornton of Florence, Mississippi; 20 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; surviving siblings, Alice McCullum, Willie Mae Patterson, Larry Patterson, and Wardell Durr; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

JW was predeceased by siblings, Ann Patterson, Jewel Patterson Clements, Ezell Patterson, Shelby Lee Patterson, Vedell Durr, and Elmer Patterson.
