James Lee Camper was born February 8, 1935, and peacefully passed away on September 26, 2020, at the age of 85.

James was the son of Joe Camper and Maggie Jackson.

At an early age, James moved to Illinois. He married Florence Richmond. During this union of 30 years, three children were born—Janet, James and Shelia. Florence died in 1991.

James moved back to Mississippi in the early 90s. On March 7, 1992, James married Betty Jean Lofton. He was a faithful member of New Galilee M.B. Church in Mendenhall, Mississippi.

James loved to talk and joke around with his family and friends.

James leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 28 years, Betty Jean Lofton Camper; four daughters, Janet Camper (Chicago, Illinois), Shelia Camper (Tampa, Florida), Penny Lofton (Magee, Mississippi) and Zundra (Jermaine) Feazell (Pinola, Mississippi); two sons, James Camper, Jr. (Chicago, Illinois) and Alton Lofton (Jacksonville, Florida); nine grandchildren, Emmanuel, Jarrod, Shalonda, Sade (Chris), Allegra, Javian, Jermaine J.
