James Larry
Mangum
Aug 12, 1956 — Dec 26, 2020
Mendenhall
James Larry Mangum was born to the late Phil Mangum Jr. and Lillie Mae Mangum on August 12, 1956. He was the fourth born of ten children. He was born in Magee, MS and resided in Simpson County most of his life. He was married to Lois Ann Mangum, who preceded him in death, for 21 years, but they began their courtship sixteen years prior to holy matrimony. He and his wife built a legacy of 4 daughters, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He had a host of nieces, nephews, and three special first cousins.
Throughout his life he labored/serviced as a construction worker, brick layer, gardener, and devoted husband and father. Due to several health issues, he became disabled in 2013. He spent his retired life gardening, caring for his family, and relaxing around his house.
He was a very determined, quiet, and hard-working man who devoted his time to his family. Even though he was not a religious man, he respected and loved God! For those who were close to him, knew that he was very unique, genuine, and loving but in his on special way.
