JoAnn McGee was born July 31, 1951 in Magee, Mississippi to the late Harmon and Emma Magee of D'Lo, Mississippi. She departed this life September 29, 2017 at St. Dominic Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

JoAnn was baptized at an early age at Mount Moriah Church of God in Christ in Mendenhall, Mississippi. She remained faithful in the Lord until her death. JoAnn was united in Holy Matrimony to John L. McGee on March 21, 1972 and to this union five children were born.

JoAnn leaves to cherish her memories: a loving husband, John L. McGee of Braxton, Mississippi; one sibling, Willie Jewel (Willie C.) Ayers of Magee, Mississippi; three daughters: Teena Magee and Vinessa (Jerome) Rockingham of Mendenhall, Mississippi, and Tara McGee of Braxton, Mississippi; one son, Larry McGee of Columbia, Mississippi; eight grandchildren: Serrentha Magee, Mahalia Magee, Ounchea McGee, Alexia Magee, Thomas Magee, Terrance Magee, Erica (Darius) Rhodes all of Mendenhall, Mississippi; and Javell McGee of Magee, Mississippi; one great grandchild, Caylee McGee-Crowell of Mendenhall, Mississippi; and a host of nephews, nieces, special relatives and friends.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Emma Magee; two sons: Johnny McGee and Joe Thomas McGee; two sisters: Willie Ruth Weathersby and Ruby Magee, and one brother, MacArthur Magee.
