Mr. Joe Lewis Walker was born in Lawrence County, Mississippi on January 5, 1952 to the late R.J. Walker and Iner Bell Taylor Walker. Joe attended New Hymn and Pinola Schools. At an early age, he joined Taylor Hill Missionary Baptist Church in New Hebron, Mississippi. He was a faithful member until his health failed. God called him home on September 26, 2017.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, R.J. and Iner Bell Walker; four sisters: Eliza Showers, Earline Smith, Sinola Fortenberry, and Yvone Walker; and one brother, Wilmer Lee Walker.

Brother Joe Lewis Walker leaves to cherish his memories: his three kids: Shiquita (Mozell) Fairley of Magee, Mississippi, Joe Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, and Stephanie Howard of Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers: Reverend R.J. (Annette) Walker of Mendenhall, Mississippi, Willie (Ethel) Walker of St. Louis, Missouri, and Frank (Jackie) Walker of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Roy Showers of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters: Gloria Kelly of St. Louis, Missouri and Willine Turner of New Hebron, Mississippi; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed.
