Mr. John E. Thurman was born on May 20, 1945, to the late Mr. Thornton and Emma Thurman. He transitioned from this earthly life to live in Glory on Friday, February 28, 2020.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife, Mary Thurman; nine children, Lee Marvin Williamson, Brenda (Bruce) Seals, Avis Grant, Emmanuel (Kristy) Thurman, all of Mendenhall, MS, Teresa (Wayne) Wheeler of Pearl, MS,. Michelle (Andre) Horn of Gulfport, MS, Jonathan Thurman of Jonesboro, GA, and Wiley (Christiana) Thurman of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Thurman. He also leaves one brother, L.J. Thurman of Jackson, MS, 28 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
