LEAH YVETTE CAMPER

Leah Y. Camper, 61, died unexpectedly February 5, 2023, of a medical emergency while driving in Mississippi. She was born July 18, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Curtis Lee and Altee Camper.

Leah graduated from Cass Technical High School, class of 1979. Following graduation, she earned her Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University. Then continued her post graduate education, obtaining her Master's degree from The University of Detroit. Leah was raised a Christian and remained devout throughout her life.  She loved to travel and never passed on an opportunity for a spontaneous "Girl's trip". Her favorite destination was the beach for the beauty and serenity of the ocean. Leah's quick wit and unique perspective always made her the life of the party. She loved sports and was looking forward to the Superbowl. Leah never had children of her own but doted on her niece and nephew, Canden and Corey, taking them to the Annual Thanksgiving parade and never leaving out an ice cream treat. When her brother Neil, passed she stepped in and raised his daughter Cierra as her own.

Leah was predeceased by her father, Curtis Lee Camper; brother, Neil Camper and niece, Canden Camper. Surviving are her mother Altee Camper, Niece Cierra Camper; nephew, Corey Camper and a host of other family and friends.

A family Memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
