Sister Leoria Brent Newsome was born on September 2, 1926, in Pinola, Mississippi, to the late Lonnie and Mattie Smith Brent. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Newsome.

At an early age, Sister Leoria began her Christian journey at Rose Hill Church of Christ Holiness USA. She found great joy in worship and cherished attending church with her parents, who were known for their hospitality—often opening their home to visiting pastors and preparing meals with love and care.

Sister Leoria will be fondly remembered for her selfless acts of kindness and her servant's heart. She was known for preparing meals for others, making thoughtful calls to check on the sick and shut-in, and extending compassion to all who crossed her path. Her life reflected generosity, faith, and unwavering love for others.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories a loving nephew, Melvin Jack (Christine) Williams of McDonough, Georgia; devoted friends and neighbors, Artis (Carolyn) Fletcher of Mendenhall, Mississippi; a loving friend, Connie Brent of Pinola, Mississippi; a caring great-nephew and niece, Willie Ray (Brenda) Newsome of Pinola, Mississippi, whom she loved as her own; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Though she has departed this earthly life, Sister Leoria's legacy of faith, kindness, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her
