Linda Faye
Kimble
Apr 11, 1941 — Aug 27, 2022
Mendenhall
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."—23rd Psalm
On the afternoon of August 27, 2022, a beautiful life came to a close when God called Linda home to her final rest. Linda was born April 11, 1941, in Simpson County, Mississippi, the second of fourteen children to loving parents, W.J. and Susie Magee.
She attended Harper High in Mendenhall, Mississippi, where she excelled in basketball. Linda ventured to Chicago, Illinois. Her biggest joy was being a homemaker. She had a heart for helping others. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age, where she joined Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Walter Robinson.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Emanuel Kimble. She moved back home to Mendenhall, Mississippi in 2005. She continued to follow Christ's path and was a faithful member of St. Peter M.B. Church under the leadership of Reverend Troy Durr until her health failed. She left this earth with an unwavering love for Christ and her family. You would often hear her say "LOVE, LOVE." She was a loving daughter, mother, sister and grandmother whom the children lovingly called "Granny."
Linda was preceded in death by daughter, Glinda Price; son, Linton McGee; grandson, Freddie Johnson; parents, W.J. and Susie Magee; brothers, Holly Magee, Robert Pittman and Ray Magee; sisters, Roberta Nolden and Fannie Mangum; and brothers-in-law, Larry Magee, Tom Walker, Willie Forest and Willie Mangum; and godparents, Ma and Pa Simpson.
Linda leaves to celebrate her strong legacy: daughters, Rita Magee and Veronica Jones, both of Mendenhall, Mississippi, and Sananquanita (Ralph) Thomas of Chicago, Illinois; sons, Louis (Kim) Magee of Magee, Mississippi and Lenell McGee of Chicago, Illinois; sisters, Minnie (Johnnie) McGee Woods of Magee, Mississippi, Emma (L.C.) McCullum of Prentiss, Mississippi, Earnestine (Glenn) Young of Magee, Mississippi, Barbara Walker and Pasty Magee, both of Mendenhall, Mississippi, Rena Barnes of Mt. Olive, Mississippi, Margaret (L.M.) Johnson and Gerldine Brown, both of Chicago, Illinois; brothers, Willie J. Magee and Reverend James (Donna) Dampeer, both of Mendenhall, Mississippi; an uncle, Reverend Lemeul (Lisa) Holloway of Louisiana; sister-in-law, Joyce Ann Magee of Mendenhall, Mississippi; and son-in-law, Terry Price of Mt. Olive, Mississippi. Linda was blessed to have a host of grandchildren, great grand children, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special thanks to Shelia Willis for the love and care given to Mother Kimble.
