Obituary

Lucille was born on January 18, 1941, to Ellis and Almeta Pittman in the Hawpond Community of Simpson County, Mississippi.  She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of St. Peter Baptist Church.  When the family moved to Mendenhall, Mississippi, she met and married T. J. Adams and to this union eight (8) children were born, two (2) who preceded her in death, Kathleen and Richard.

She was a faithful member of Nazareth Baptist Church where she actively served until arthritis slowed her down.  Lucille "Mama" Adams served on the "Mother Board" and had a great love for children and supported them whenever she could.  She babysat children and many of them would come back and visit her after they grew up.  "Mama" had a great love for cooking and baking cakes and she shared these passions freely.

Her beautiful life will be forever cherished by her six (6) children: Juanita, Larry (Carmen), Dianne (J.T.), Thomas (Jennifer), Michael (Petrice), and Amy; grandchildren, Monroe, Brianna, Nathan, Christopher, Daniel, Erika, James, Anthony, Richard, Jordan, and Aniya; great grandchild, Nevaeh; siblings, Lillie Mae Camper (Slidell, LA), Janice Pittman and Ardell Washington (Mendenhall, MS), Wallace Washington (Prentiss, MS), and Delois Banks (Pinola MS); special daughters, LaShunda McLaurin, Edith (Cookie) Moffett, Berter M. Fletcher, Carolyn S. Fletcher and Carolyn Ball. She will also be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
