Marcella Wright departed her life on March 14, 2020, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Marcella was born on August 3, 1939, to Cleo and LeRoy Shaw. She grew up in Cruger, Mississippi with eight sisters and three brothers. She was married to George Wright, Jr. for 52 years and she worked as a cook and retired from Piney Woods School.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, George Henry Wright, Jr. and her sister, Josephine Shaw Mangum. She leaves to cherish her memories: three brothers, Leroy (Doretha) Shaw, Robert Shaw, and Joe Louis (Deborah) Shaw; six sisters, Adella Prayer, Alice (Johnny) Drune, Dortha Sanders, Ethel Brooks, Bobbie Prayer and Cora Haymon.
