Funeral Program - Rickey D. Durr

Rickey Damascus Durr, affectionately known as "Dee," was born on August 13, 1991, in Jackson, Mississippi, and passed away on June 14, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Raised in Mendenhall, Mississippi, Rickey was surrounded by love, family, and a deep-rooted sense of faith and community. He attended Mendenhall High School and was a member of Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.

On July 25, 2022, Rickey married the love of his life, Jamiya Thornton, and together they had three beautiful children. Rickey is survived by his devoted wife, Jamiya Thornton-Durr; his children, Khlynn Thornton, SunLynn Durr, and DreLynn Durr; his father, Ricky "Sam" Durr (Linda); and his siblings, Jabari Buckley (Andrea), Robert Anthony, Micheal Anthony, and Tony Riley. He also leaves behind a large extended family, including beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Rickey was a kind and generous soul, always willing to lend a helping hand and share a laugh. He was a faithful friend, a loving father, and a devoted husband whose presence will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
