Obituary

Ms. Rosella L. "Dull" Walker was born on September 8, 1958, to the late Joseph and Polly Lou Walker. She was the tenth of fourteen children from this union. Rosella answered God's call and entered into eternal life and gained her faithful wings on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 9:52 p.m. at the Baptist Medical Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. The Lord saw that she was tired and sent an angel to her bedside.

Rosella is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Walker and Polly Lou Walker; three sisters, Leonia Wallace, Dorothy and Gerlene Walker; seven brothers, Joseph Jr., Milton, Troy, Freddie, Melvin, Eula C., and James Earl Walker; a very special niece that she had a hand in raising as her as own, Laura (John "Dee") Walker-Funchess; and her puppy she loved so dearly, Max.

Rosella joined New Zion M.B. Church at an early age and remained active until her health would not allow her to attend services. She began her career by becoming employed at the Universal Manufacturing Corporation while also working part-time as a cafeteria worker for the Public School System. She attained her certification in the medical field from Copiah Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Mississippi in 1998. Rosella was a compassionate, hard-worker and was dedicated to everything she did until her health began to decline. She absolutely loved spending time with her grandkids, family, and friends. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, dancing and watching soap operas, Wheel of Fortune, and as she say, "The Cowboys" (Westerns).

Rosella leaves to cherish her precious memories: her two sons, Michael (India) Walker of Morton, Mississippi and Kendell (Christina) Walker of Pinola, Mississippi; two sisters, Christine (Willie) Williams and Betty (Bobby) Newsome, both of Pinola, Mississippi; and one brother, Grady C. Walker of Elkhart, Indiana; a special nephew, James (Alice) Brown; a special cousin, Antrella (Curtis) Chatman; five grandchildren; a very special great niece, Janaiya Griffith; a dear friend for many years, Kay Mack; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
