Ms. Sarah Smith was born on April 1, 1952 in Simpson County to the late Edna Black Travis and Dave Smith.  She departed this life on September 27, 2019 at Merit Health in Hattiesburg, MS.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren.  Sarah worked at Magnatech for many years.  She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.

Sarah was preceded in death by her mother Edna Black Travis, father Dave Smith; and stepfather Vinzie Travis; a sister Norah Hurley; a brother Johnny Smith.

Sarah leaves to cherish her memories One son:  Edmund (Wanda) Jackson of Mendenhall, MS. Three daughters:  Edna Jackson of Hattiesburg, MS; Lakeisha (Etoya) Traxler of Mendenhall, MS; Demetrice (Kenzie) Walker of Gulfport, MS.  Four brothers:  Thomas (Phillis) Smith of New York; LeRoy (Sue) Burkett; Venzie Travis; Elbert (Augustine) Travis all of Mendenhall, MS.  Two sisters:  Amy Walker of Mendenhall, MS; Annie (Dwight) Robinson of Braxton, MS. 13 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren.

A special daughter Marphena McNair, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
