Yvonne A. Funches Funeral Program

Yvonne A. Funchess was born April 14, 1942, in Pinola, Mississippi, to the late James Alexander and Louvenia Quinn. She transitioned from this life early on February 1, 2025.

As a child, she joined New Hymn Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member. She attended New Hymn School. Her favorite pastime was watching her grandchildren. She loved her family, spending time with friends, sports and travelling.

As a young woman, she married Mr. Roy Lee Funches. They were united in marriage for 47 years until his death. Yvonne was the second child of three girls. Her oldest sister, Ada Bell Moore, and her son, Gary Sandifer, preceded her in death.

She was a strong woman with a strong will and was loved by many. She worked at the Revolving Tables and Magnetek for many years until her health failed.

She leaves to cherish her memory: seven children, Grover Alexander, Pamela Alexander, Calvin (Ann) Alexander, Francine (Sedrick) Garrett, Dwight Funches, Trudy Funches, and Kawat Funches; one sister, Della Powell Willis; 15 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; a special granddaughter, LaKendra Alexander; a special nephew, Quamaine Durr; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
