About Us

Our History & Beginnings

Operating since 1929, the funeral home became black-owned in 1963 as Jaynes and Magee Funeral Home. Al Gray, a graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science, purchased the funeral home in 1976, continuing to serve the Simpson County Community as well as surrounding areas.

With years of experience, we realize that each family has different needs. Our accommodating staff will assist you in creating a meaningful service to your specifications.

J & M Funeral Home offers a full line of quality "end of life" services. We have a large and diverse selection of caskets, urns, and memorial services to fit every budget, need, and customized plan.

In order to provide a complete service, catering to each family's needs for a traditional funeral or memorial service,
J & M conveniently provides information and services for printing, florists, grave-digging services, as well as professional grief counseling, making J & M Funeral Home the only visit necessary to complete a compassionate, dignified service for your loved one.

Allow us the opportunity to work with you and your family on any of your funeral or pre-arrangement needs.
